Walking Trails – There is a wonderful way-marked walking trail in the Slieve Bloom Mountains. The tranquillity of the Grand Canal can be enjoyed on a newly developed towpath trail from Tullamore to Edenderry. Forest walks are developed in the Slieve Bloom Envoirnment ParkGarryhinch, Busherstown, Goldengrove, Durrow, Charleville and Blackwood. There are sign posted town trails at the elegant planned town of Birr the county capital, Tullamore, and the lovely Lough Boora Parklands outside Tullamore.

Golfing at Tullamore Golf Club, Esker Hills, Castlebarna, and Garryhinch (Porlarlington)

Offaly is an extremely pleasant and interesting place for fishing, situated in the heart of Ireland, renowned for its excellent course fishing with the majestic Shannon its many tributaries, Brosna, Little Brosna, Suck and Grand Canal.
You can take that old bog train along the bog lands of Offaly where one maybe at peace with the world and one’s self.
